Special Initiatives
Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
Each year The Campaign partners with CEIBA, Philadelphia Legal Assistance, Community Legal Services and Congreso to provide information and free help in applying for an ITIN around tax time. An ITIN is a nine digit number given to individuals who do not have and are not eligible for social security numbers. This number is used solely for processing tax returns, and is issued regardless of immigration status for individuals in order to file a federal tax return. To learn more about ITIN's, call 215-634-7245 or click here.
Financial Services and Savings Products
The Campaign continuously strives to build wealth in our constituents' household. All customers at our tax sites have the opportunity to learn about and apply for financial services and savings products such as savings bonds and credit counseling as they get their taxes prepared. See our Saving and Managing Money page for more information.
Mobile Tax Operation
Our mobile operation brings tax preparation, asset development and financial education to businesses, unions, organizations, churches, etc. in the Greater Philadelphia region. Our team sets up one day or multi-day sessions for a host site's clients, staff and employees. This operation makes getting your taxes done easy because we come to you and bring an excellent service. As an added bonus, we now complete FAFSA applications, if requested. For costs, application and/or inquiries, please contact Khadijah Jones at kjones@gpuac.org.
