It's Easy To Become A Tax Volunteer;
Caring Volunteers Give-Back To Their Community Home
PHILADELPHIA, PA, December 15, 2005- The Campaign for Working Families has launched a citywide effort to recruit volunteers to complete income tax returns for working families who are eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania is coordinating the recruitment of volunteer tax preparers. Anyone who can prepare their own tax return, is comfortable with computer spreadsheets, and can spare a few hours a week during the tax season can help. Now is the time to find out how to can help working families get the credit they deserve. Volunteer training takes place in December and January.
The Campaign for Working Families is a citywide partnership that promotes free filing of the federal Earned Income Tax Credit and connects Philadelphia residents to other tax credits, public benefits and asset-building resources. The Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition manages the partnership.
