Eligibility
The federal Earned Income Tax Credit is a program for working families. A qualified family with 2 or more children can receive up to $4,716. An individual worker could be eligible for a tax credit up to $428.
You may be eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit and free income tax preparation if:
- you have children and earned less than $39,783 in 2007
- you do not have children and earned less than $14,590 in 2007
