| Division: | Campaign for Working Families | |
| Reports To: | Director of Operations | |
| Job Description | ||
| Position Summary: | Every year, the Campaign for Working Families sets up, runs and takes down 10-15 free tax sites in Philadelphia neighborhoods. These free tax sites help low income families take advantage of tax credits, like the Earned Income Tax Credit, and avoid getting ripped off by paid preparers. The operation brings millions of dollars in tax credits to working Philadelphia families and requires an incredible amount of planning and administration. Every year, the implementation of this program involves building relationships with community groups, banks and corporate partners; negotiating space; writing contracts; hiring, training and managing staff; recruiting and training volunteers; balancing budgets; ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and quality procedures; using data to measure program effectiveness; fundraising; and more. We are looking for a student who is organized and energetic to support our Director of Operations in completing these tasks for the 2011 tax season. After completing an internship with our agency, this student will have tangible and marketable experience and skills in the administration and management of a large and successful nonprofit program. |
